Five seconds of math before you tap accept.
Veteran drivers screen every offer on dollars per mile — $1.50 or better is the common accept line — because payout without distance is meaningless. This calculator scores an offer on payout per mile AND net per hour after fuel and vehicle wear, then gives a plain accept/borderline/decline verdict you can act on in the seconds before the timer runs out.
Drivers use it in the parking lot with the accept timer running: payout per mile and net per hour after costs, with a verdict. Multi-appers keep the vehicle inputs set and just punch in each offer as it pings.
The community rule of thumb is $1.50+ per mile gross as the accept line, $1.00–$1.50 is borderline (take it only if it routes you home or toward a hot zone), and under $1.00 pays you less than your car costs to run long-term. A $9.50 offer over 6.5 miles is $1.46/mile — borderline — and nets about $7.74 after vehicle costs.
Because the app pays neither gas nor time for them. A 2-mile drive to the restaurant on a 4-mile delivery makes it a 6-mile trip on your odometer and your maintenance schedule. Drivers who count only the delivery leg overestimate their per-mile pay by a third or more.
It depends on the platform and market. Acceptance rate affects priority access on some apps, but cherry-picking profitable offers almost always beats a high acceptance rate full of $3 base-pay runs. Do the per-offer math — the algorithm optimizes for the platform, not for you.
